The Crow was originally a deep underground comic book that was made into a movie in 1993. Staring Bradon Lee (the son of the famous martial artist Bruce Lee). Written by James O' Barr.

"People once believed that when someone dies a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it, and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right."

The story is about Eric Draven a rock-n-roll guitar player for his band Hangman's Joke. Eric is murdered the night before Halloween (which is colorfully called Devil's Night on account that they set fires everywhere) with his fiance Shelly Webster. The two were supposed to be married the following day, Halloween. Shelly was fighting tenant eviction in a slum-like neighborhood, and had a petition signed by many of the tenants. Shelly was brutally beaten and raped by four men: T-Bird, Tin-Tin, Skank, and Fun Boy. While Eric was stabbed, shot several times, then fell out a sixth floor window. Where we meet officer Albrecht and Sarah. Sarah was taken care of by Shelly and Eric due to her mother's drug issues. Eric died when he hit the ground, Shelly held on for 30 hours until her body gave up.

"A building gets torched, all that is left is ashes. I used to think that was true about everything--families, friends, feelings. But now I know that sometimes, if love proves real, two people who are meant to be together--nothing can keep them apart."

The scene cuts to one year later, and Sarah is in a grave yard leaving flowers for Shelly and Eric(which she took from other graves). Then a crow lands on Erics grave as she leaves. The crow pecks at Erics grave as it starts to rain. After she gets back into the city she finds officer Albrecht at a hot dog stand, and at the same time the four murderers are found at Arcade Games destroying machines.

Meanwhile at the graveyard. The ground slowly rises and Eric comes out. Eric freezing and wet. He follows the crow back into the city through the alley ways barefoot. As the gang of T-Bird, Tin-Tin, Fun Boy, and Skank drive by Albrecht and Sarah at the hot dog stand... then Arcade Games explodes.

The crow leaves Eric a pair of boots as he trembles down the alley wat to the fire escape of his old apartment building. When he reaches his door he tears through the crime scene police tape, and back into his apartment to only find his cat Gabriel. As soon as he touches Gabriel the memorys of the fateful night of Shelly and his death come into play. He has this vivid renactment of what happened. Shelly being beaten and raped, and him getting a knife thrown at him from when he walked to through the door, the shots fired at him from all four members of T-Birds clan, and finally falling out the six story window. He renacts every part except when he fell out the window he grabs to top and swings back in, but the cuts from the glass he held onto when he swang healed as soon as he came back in.
